Nobody wears browns and beiges better than Elle-May. I am such a fan of her blog. Her photos are so full of life and emotion and her personality shines through all of her looks. She has a smile that brightens up a room and a style to match!
I am soooo sorry that I have been seriously neglecting this blog. I’ve been so busy with so many things in my life. This children book is where most of my time goes and I recently moved to Long Beach This is my first full illustration in Long Beach! Hope you enjoy! Hopefully going to be updating this blog more often now. 🙂

So, a long time ago when I first started this project, Charlieo was one of the first people I attempted to illustration. Unfortunately when i started the project I was a very busy person and the illustration i did of him ended up kinda falling to the back (this has happened to quite a few people that i’ve illustrated but havent posted). The other day i got an email from him telling me how much he liked my work. I was kind of floored honestly. ahahaha. I told him that i had tried to draw him in the past and then he said that he must have been hard to draw because of his hair. hahaha.
I might have gotten a lot of the colors incorrect on this particular illustration. Sometimes when there’s editing on a photo i can’t really tell the true color of a piece of clothing. even though my intuition told me that he’s probably wearing all black I decided that he was definitely wearing purple! Hahaha. Even though i don’t think i did his look or him in a very canon way, i hope he likes it nonetheless. It always makes me kinda giddy when people i’ve been sorta stalking on lookbook randomly message me. hahaa.

So, funny story about Lisa Mayhem! Some people who follow this blog may or may not know that I have a youtube page and that i’m soooomewhat popular within certain groups (wow that sounds really arrogant). I try pretty hard to not mix these two virtual worlds. Well one day Lisa commented on my boyfriend tag video and i checked out her youtube page an instantly subscribed. Later while i was combing through Lookbook for people to draw, I saw her! I was absolutely floored. ahhaa. Yay for internet 6 degrees of separation.
Anywho, I love Lisa’s looks! She has a very cool, edgy style that evokes a very ‘witchy’ feeling. She reminds me of Azealia Banks in a very very good way. What I absolutely love the most about this look is how she’s accented a particular shade of blue consistently through her outfit. Her nails and her lipstick match. I’m a huge fan of really creative lipcolors and Lisa is great at working a very light, colorful look that most of us would stray away from but she wears perfectly. I’ve never been much of a fan of jerseys but she really works this jersey! Overall, this is a really great look. my eyes were instantly drawn to it and it was totally fun to illustrate!

I was really struck by this look because it was so specifically 60s. When i saw this i instantly thought of the old illustrated fashion catalogs from the 60s so I decided that I would take Giovanna’s look and make a mock-up fashion catalog page. 😀 I love this look. I have a weakness for primary colors. 😀
Giovavnna has an impeccable style. I absolutely adore her looks. They’re always so tasteful and well put together. Check out her personal Fashion Blog.

Cyryl is relatively new to Lookbook but I really like his looks! I think the thing i like most is that alot of them flow really well with each other. His blog, From Cyryl, is a simple personal fashion blog that features his looks in a sequence of very well shot photos! I like how he mixes and matches and any guy who can wear a bow tie is a winner in my book!

via Tumblr http://lookbookillust.tumblr.com/post/43506119688/edward-honaker-of-edwardshair-net-so-i-was Edward Honaker of edwardshair.net/
So, I was looking for people to do illustrations of and i happened upon Edward Honaker! People who know me know I have a slight obsession with two things: Floral prints and well dressed men in suits…WELLLL. This was kind of an awesome combination of the two. I dont think i’ve seen very many floral print suite ties but I pretty much love the on he’s wearing on General Knot Co. I love the cut and fit of his Brooks Brothers suite as well. I MUST convince my boyfriend to wear more suits (I’ve been saying this for a while now).
Edward runs a personal fashion blog that I’m assuming is pronounced Edward’s Hair. He seems to have an affinity for the color Navy and he wears it quite well and always with a subtle pop of color or an interesting pattern either on the piece itself or in it’s lining. He also has a great taste in music and pointed me towards an awesome LA band, Story of the Running Wolf . He’s very well dressed and everyone who hasn’t checked him out should!

Sooooo, i haven’t been on lookbookillust forever it seems. been really backed up with commissions and such (not complaining).
I was browsing for Lookbookers to draw and I came found Bryant Lee. He posted his DIY 3D flower sweater and I was like…super taken a back. it’s kinda amazing. I’ve never seen something like it. It was super inspiring so i decided to do a painting of him.

Bobby Raffin of Gypsy Sale
So, i recently booked a gig with a french cosmetics company (not sure if I can state the name) and for the gig i had to have a very watercolory feel and used only one color to accent tones etc. I really enjoyed making the piece and I wanted to find a look that lended itself to a more monochromatic pallet. I saw Booby R’s recent post and I thought it really lended itself to what I was trying to do!
Bobby is a very diverse fashionista. I love the different styles he tries on. I was originally going to do an illustration of his hobo chic look, but never got around to it back then. I’ve always appreciated his use of mutted desaturated tones and the occasional pop of color. Truly one of the more diverse male fashionistas on lookbook and I know that is probably what he has to thank for his notable lookbook fame!
http://gypsysale.com/ is his new shop where he sells things that he’s collected. It’s a very interesting collection at that and really gives a look into his eye as a photographer and as a lover of vintage fashion. I’m a huge fan of thrifting and his store is essentially a virtual thrift store. Very awesome.
Oh and my favorite thing about this look is the lapel on the blazer. It’s upside down and I dont think i’ve ever seen that before. Very cool.

I’m starting to notice a trend in the looks I choose for this project. It seems i pick either very colorful looks or looks that have a POP of color. When browsing through today’s men on Lookbook, I came upon Milan Boya! I haven’t seen him before but clearly I’ve been missing out!
Milan has a very colorful and sensible style and he makes a great use of pattern and color. His personal fashion blog, My Schpajz, give a very pure and artistic view of his style. I’ve noticed he goes through phases in his styling. Currently he utilizes bright and boldly colored socks as an accent to his already colorful outfits and this is a detail that truly brings the outfit together. His blog is filled with gorgeously posed and composed photos of his photos and I can honestly say that there isn’t a one that i don’t like. He’s one of few lookbookers i’ve illustrated where I could forsee my self wanting to draw every single one of his looks!
